ASSP GCC HSE EXCELLENCE AWARDS 2026

The American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP)– Gulf Cooperation Council HSE Excellence Awards were established to recognize organizations that demonstrate outstanding leadership, innovation, and commitment to excellence in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) across the private sector of the Gulf region. Since 2009, the ASSP Kuwait Chapter—a non-profit voluntary professional organization—has been honoring companies that set exemplary standards in HSE management and performance. Over the years, these prestigious awards have recognized organizations that go beyond compliance, embedding HSE as a core business value and driving sustainable operational excellence. Through a rigorous evidence-based evaluation process, the awards highlight successful business models and best practices that protect people, safeguard assets, and preserve the environment, while inspiring organizations across the region to continuously elevate their HSE standards.

AWARD SCHEME

The award scheme is devised to recognize and reward those GCC private sector organizations who have been successful over the course of the year in managing the risks of workplace, development and their Health, Safety & Environment performance, besides doing ethical business:

  • The awards are open to all private sector organizations of GCC Countries.
  • An organization can apply for a maximum of three awards.
  • The application shall be submitted to the ASSP Kuwait Chapter.
  • Submitted applications shall be evaluated by an independent panel of HSE professionals of ASSP.
  • If required any additional information or clarification, the applicant will be invited to a meeting to deliver a presentation.
  • The winning organizations will be invited to the Recognition ceremony which will be held in one of the reputed hotels in Kuwait.
  • Organizations will be given an opportunity Platform to showcase their company profile and video address.
  • The decisions of the ASSP GCC HSE Excellence Award Adjudication Panel shall stand final.
  • The winning organization will receive:
    a. Award Certificate b. Commemorative Plaque

Note: Based on the benchmarks defined in the evaluation criteria, organizations will be recognized with Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards under the HSE Excellence Categories, and Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards under the Other Award Categories.

 

GOLD MEDAL

Special recognitions shall also be presented: Recognizing the organizations who have consecutively won the HSE Excellence Gold Award for five times (including current year).

BEST DEBUT ENTRY

Recognizing the best entry from organizations participating for the first time.

 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • The awards are open to all private sector organizations in GCC Countries
  • Award applications should pertain to specific organization’s (site) or business unit(s) that have demonstrated consistent or sustained leading performance and continual improvement in HSE over the Previous three calendar years.
  • However, companies or projects with less than three years of HSE performance statistics are also encouraged to participate. For other awards, the evaluation criteria will be based on performance or initiatives for the Calendar year 2025.

  • Organized annually in the State of Kuwait.
  • Patronized by Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) and its subsidiaries, along with international regulatory bodies.

  • Participation from companies across Kuwait, Oman, SaudiArabia, UAE, Qatar, and Bahrain.

ADJUDICATION PANEL

The panel of adjudicators consists of experts and leaders in the fields of business, education, safety, health, and the environment. It includes highly qualified HSE experts from the GCC Region.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • Part I Organization Profile (Section 1)and evidence for all the relevant KPQs (Section 2) for the award Submission
  • Part II Lagging Indicators for the preceding three calendar years (applicable only for those organizations who are applying for HSE Excellence Award)
  • Part III Application form (Declaration form)
  • Application Fee Cheque | Bank Transfer | Online Payment

 

FEE STRUCTURE

  • Application fee of USD 350 or 100 KWD (Kuwaiti Dinar) for applying for the first award title. An additional application fee of USD 350 or 100 KWD applies for each additional award category.
  • Winning organizations will be required to pay a Winner’s Package fee of USD 1,150 or KWD 350 to attend the award ceremony, which includes participation for up to three (3) representatives.
  • The ASSP Kuwait Chapter also welcomes additional representatives, who may attend the ceremony upon payment of a nominal fee of USD 165 or KWD 50 per representative.
  • Companies may pay the total amount (Application fee + Winner’s Package) upfront. If the company does not qualify as a winner, the Winner’s Package fee will be refunded.
  • Organizations applying for multiple award categories must submit a separate application for each category, along with the applicable application fee as stated above.
  • All fees must accompany the application and are nonrefundable. Fees can be paid in the form of:
